Your tasks
- You technically own and evolve our international analytics platform, driving a fully automated GitOps-style Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) setup with Terraform on Azure.
- You build reusable Terraform modules and manage remote state, versioning, and promotion across environments.
- You design and automate CI/CD for infrastructure and platform changes (validation, testing, security scans, approvals).
- You operate the platform with a reliability and cost-conscious mindset: observability / alerting, cost guardrails, drift detection, and disaster recovery.
- You implement security and networking by design (RBAC / managed identities, network segmentation, private endpoints, DNS, policies).
- You manage core data platform services - including Databricks - as code.
- You partner with data and analytics teams, as well as tech foundation, security, networking, and compliance; you communicate clearly, translate requirements, and facilitate cross-team decisions.
Requirements
- Solid hands-on experience with Terraform and Git; experience building CI/CD pipelines for IaC on a major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP) using modern tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). Azure experience is beneficial but not required.
- Working knowledge of data platform services on a major cloud: Databricks, storage, secrets, policy / compliance, and monitoring; familiarity with orchestration is a plus.
- Strong networking fundamentals: VNets, subnetting, DNS, firewalls / NSGs, private endpoints.
- Ideally, experience with DevOps / DataOps best practices: code reviews, automated validation / security scanning (e.g., tflint, tfsec, Checkov), policy-as-code, drift detection.
- Bonus: Data engineering experience with Spark / Databricks (PySpark / SQL), ETL / ELT, Delta Lake / Lakehouse, analytics modeling (star scheme; Power BI), orchestration.
- Structured, self-directed, collaborative, and solution-oriented; strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Fluent in English; German is beneficial.
